How long have you been in business?
Christine Truhe, PsyD, has been in the world of career consulting for nearly 30 years and organizational consulting/executive coaching for 20 years.
What is your primary product or service?
Dr. Truhe provides services in career counseling, executive coaching, and organizational development. CAREER CONSULTING includes: assisting people in creating the career they want, securing employment through assessment, counseling, and coaching. This may include resume preparation, mock interviewing, job search strategy and network development. EXECUTIVE COACHING includes - enabling accomplished managers and professionals to take the action required to improve the quality of their career or worklife. This in-depth process includes assessment of the individual and where appropriate the organization, regular coaching at your site or Dr. Truhe's, and involvement of others on-site when appropriate.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
Dr. Christine Truhe has a practice in professional psychology where she serves people from every industry in refining their worklives and conducting effective career transitions.
In March of 2008, Dr. Truhe received from the Summit Business and Professional Women, their highest honor, the Helen Dooley Award. An award of particular significance to Dr. Truhe is the Patriotic Civilian Award she received from Colonel Scott Spellmon, United States Army, for the work of the organization she founded and serves as President, Summit Supports Our Troops. In addition, the “Woman of Inspiration Award” was given to Dr. Truhe by the National Association of Women Business Owners in conjunction with Fairleigh Dickinson University Silberman School of Business for her work with this organization.
Dr. Truhe was awarded CIO Magazine’s “CIO 100” Annual Award for Leadership and is regular speaker at events including the New Jersey Business NewsConference, New Jersey Municipal Managers Association, and the American Psychological Association 2004 Conference in Hawaii. She was the guest editor of the New Jersey Psychologist, 2005. Dr. Truhe regularly delivers programs on women’s leadership through BKWSO, a non-governmental organization of the United Nations. She has been cited in magazines such as CIO, “OK”, and the Garden State Woman.
Dr. Truhe earned a doctorate from Rutgers University where she has served as adjunct faculty and Director of the Career Psychology Group, a Master of Science from the University of Southern California, and a Bachelor of Science from Trenton State College. She is based in Summit, New Jersey where she is married to Robert Sheehan, and is the mother of Lauren Sheehan graduating George Washington University June 2008, Specialist Michael Aros-Truhe, United States Army, who returned May 2008 from his second deployment in Iraq, and mother-in-law to Kelly Aros-Truhe, teacher of autistic children, horse trainer, and teacher of the autistic.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
Dr. Truhe is a licensed psychologist specializing in careers and organizations. There are very few professionals in the country with the credentials and both business and psychological experience of Dr. Truhe's.
